  The active ingredient in our product is dihydroxyacetone (DHA) which has been shown to be safe by the Food and Drug Administration. These products were first discovered in the late 1920's when DHA was spilled on the skin and a brown color appeared. DHA gives color to the skin through a "browning reaction." When applied to the skin DHA changes into a sugar which combines with amino acids in the skin to form chemical compounds known as melaninoids which are brown in color.

Ethel’s work to this end is a testament of her artistic creativity being showcased on the cover of Model’s Unlimited (April 2008 issue). Ethel is also a platform artist educator and an emcee for various local Bay Area events. Both make for a great performance. I have a friendly, amusing style and save the exaggeration for the guys' noses and disappearing hairlines. Folks never fail to gather and giggle. Then the big reveal! The most common reaction is — "Wow!" or "I love it" and of course audience laughter and big grins. Traditional caricature is always a hit. Digital caricature is quickly growing in popularity and is a great form of entertainment. Folks are absolutely fascinated!
  
  LIVE DIGITAL CARICATURES
  I draw about 10 faces per hour. Drawings are done on an iPad or other touchscreen device. A flat screen monitor allows the crowd to watch as drawings unfold. Drawings are printed on the spot on 4" x 6" photo paper or larger if requested. Digital files are provided for download. A logo, message and art can be added to each print.
  
  LIVE TRADITIONAL CARICATURES
  I draw about 15-20 faces per hour. My black and white drawings are done on 11x14 paper. It's the perfect size for framing and larger than the 8 1/2 x 11 paper most artists use. I provide plastic bags to protect drawings. A logo and message can be preprinted on your paper.
  
  I've performed my caricature art services at the Monterey Jazz Festival; Monterey's Cannery Row; Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco; Great America Amusement Park in San Jose, CA; Academy of Sciences in San Francisco; Paramount Studios in Hollywood and lots of other fun and classy venues. I entertain young and old at family celebrations, promotional events, corporate events, trade shows, proms, grad nights — anywhere fun is to be had! Clients include everyone from internationally known corporations like Facebook, Clorox and Wells Fargo to individuals hosting birthday parties and other family events.
