For us it’s all about a multigenerational mash-up of our parent’s music, the diverse music of our own generation, and our kids’ modern music. As band we gravitate to the lesser played covers - aiming slightly off center - towards a target that’s not easy to define. Jean Therapy celebrates the sophistication of master musicians like Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell (Shadows & Light), Santana, Burt Bacharach, Stevie Wonder & Sergio Mendez with their own modern interpretations of yesteryear tunes. The collaborators also love to play with classic jazz standards and upbeat songs of today - often stripping more modern pieces down to their smooth roots. Musically partnered for ten years, vocalist Jean Lenke and guitarist Dan McKay head up this music project. Their musical chemistry is evident in the interplay and dynamics of the group’s performances as a duo, combo, or full six-piece band.

It’s a mixture of the popular music grew up on through the 70’s and the music that our parents played on the AM radio, ubiquitous, always there as we drove to the shore in the back of our parent’s station wagon. Whether you love it or hate it, songs like ‘Walk on By’ & ‘Its Too Late' are imprinted in our brains.” - Dan McKay

The band & combo are available for club, community & social events, corporate entertainment and benefit concerts. Versatile and adaptable with a large catalog of music, Jean Therapy offers a six-piece group of vocals, guitar, bass, keys, percussion and saxophone. Instrumentation can be configured in combos of various sizes as needed based on the venue and budget. Song selection includes classic rock, jazz-rock fusion, staples from the late 60’s to mid 70’s, standout contemporary hits, great dance music, and updated jazz standards.
